The poor bears - particularly the UFOs - have taken a back seat long enough. I miss them and they miss me, so I am going to make some time to bearmake every day. I have a few little mohair guys I want to finish, and a couple of new patterns I want to try. And then I want to, hopefully - FINALLY - put some little guys up for adoption!
Ears used to be a headache for me, but I've sorted that. Now my headache is footpads. I just can't get the hang of them! Paw pads, when I use them, no problem. Foot pads? A mess. I just can't seem to get them to be the right size and to sew in nicely. Bear in mind (excuse the pun!) I hand sew all of my bears.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks for sewing in the perfect footpad? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Back to the bears :-)
Finally - some time for the bears! I have 4 little guys (or girls - it's a bit early to tell!) sewn up ready to be stuffed & then comes the fun - faces and accessories!!! Then there are 4 more bears traced and ready to be cut-out... and lots more fabric to be made into wonderful little mini bears!!
My family of needle felted bunnines are FINALLY off to Onabee on Wednesday, so tags & certificates need to be printed and filled out... and hopefully a few kits put together by then too (yeah, yeah - I know it's been on the cards for ages, but they'll be hitting the shelves Wednesday!!)
But for now it has been a long day, so I'm off to bed... Good night!!!

The ears doth make the bear...
The position of the ears can make such a difference to the look of a bear!

Bears in Berwick!
Today was the Melbourne Teddy Bear Fair in Berwick (pronounced, appropriately, Bear-wick) which was great fun!
I got to meet some good friends and fabulous artists in person, and just as importantly meet their bears in the fur! It was brilliant! I even made a few new friends :) I was very good and didn't adopt any bears (although a few were very tempting!) but I did buy a couple of patterns and some small pieces of upholstery velvet for my little bears...
Yay for a fun day & a huge thanks to Di for driving!!!
They are fabulous colours - midnight blue, honey gold, maroon, dark green... some cute bears to come! And with a couple of free patterns in the showbag, my goodie bag was full of goodies!

This week I'm grateful for... Bearmaking
My passion is bearmaking - as most of you know - but recently I simply haven't had the time to do any bearmaking, or any crafts at all for that matter, and in addition to it being my passion I find it a great source of stress relief. Tonight I have finally found a snippet of time in which to do some bearmaking.
I have finished of the basic prototype of a new design - a little 5" bear...
So now I'm thinking he needs a little pair of overalls... We'll see when I'm finished "sculpting" lol!
Pop over to Maxabella Loves to see what other people are grateful for!

And I have finally had a chance to sew the ears on my fluffy bear with needle felted paws and nose. I then started scissor sculpting his face and paws, but it has become a little extreme...
